By Taxi : Nagarkot is about a
90-minute drive from Kathmandu, and a taxi will
cost around Rs1,200 ($18.20) round-trip,
including the wait for you to enjoy the sunrise
or sunset.
By Bus : To get to Nagarkot, you must first take
a bus to Bhaktapur from Kathmandu. Buses leave
regularly from Bagh Bazaar on the east side of
the Tundikhel near the clock tower. In Bhaktapur,
cross the street from the main bus park to catch
the Nagarkot bus. These buses leave frequently
throughout the day. Total trip time is 2 1/2 to
3 hours. There is also a tourist bus that runs
between Thamel and Nagarkot; it takes only 1 1/2
hours and costs Rs100 ($1.50). Tickets can be
purchased through travel agencies in Thamel.
By Motorcycle : Nagarkot is also a favorite
destination of people renting motorcycles in
Kathmandu. If you're an experienced dirt-bike
rider and you can rent a motocross-style bike,
you can return via the trail to Sankhu. |
